Bucerias Nayarit December 2014 – Surf Mexico runs lifeguard training in Sayulita – A combination of efforts from Surf Mexico, Fire Fighters Crossing boarders, The Pacific Paddle Water Patrol, and Protection Civil Puerto Vallarta and Nayarit, led to the successful training of 43 new volunteer lifeguards for the upcoming season. The idea of the course was to train supplemtment or volunteer lifeguards that could support the protection civil and bomberos guards, during the high season, when tight budgets don’t allow for proper coverage of the bays beaches, mainly, Bucerias, Punta Mita, and Sayulita.
Adam Finer from Pacific Paddle and the Bucerias Water Patrol, has been working closely with protection civil for several years and has a crew that Lifeguard in Bucerias, and responds to emergencies in the Bay Of Banderas with a quick response team of Rescue Jet Skis.
Adam Finer, Esteban Calderon Commandante Guadavidas Puerto Vallarta, and Jimmy Canale San Diego Lifegurd department, were the lead instructors with additional support from Marco Pena, Nicole..
The course was 3 half days set in Sayulita, the 43 participants were introduced to a steep level of physical challenges, were taught rescue techniques, First aid, Stand up Paddle rescue techniques and CPR.
The squad could be seen running the beaches in Sayulita in tight formation, looking proud!
